North Whiteley Project Update

The circa 208-hectare North Whiteley urban extension commenced in 2015 and lies within the Winchester City district on the north side of Whiteley, near Farnham in Hampshire.

The development has been carefully designed to fit the existing landscape and includes extensive, retained woodland and open space. The outline consent for this development was for 3,500 homes, two primary schools, a secondary school, a retail and community centre and significant highway improvements.

It is promoted by three major housebuilders (including Vistry Southern) and a landowner, acting as a consortium working closely with the city and county councils.

RHB originally designed MEP services for the apartment blocks in parcels 4,5,6,10,13,14,15, and 16 which included:

  • electrical and water distribution
  • telecoms and gas distribution
  • IRS systems
  • access control systems
  • smoke ventilation systems
  • lighting
  • power
  • coordinated riser layouts
  • external lighting
  • dry risers

RHB has already provided designs for 8 parcels for this long-term development for Vistry Southern/House Building Southern, for whom we have completed over 20 projects in total. We were delighted by the recent request to provide the MEP designs for parcel 9, which is now in construction.
