Harvey has been in the industry for 33 years, starting as an apprentice electrician and progressing to an electrical designer. He has a very hands-on approach to his projects. Aside from overseeing them, he is regularly found in the thick of the design process and likes to keep our engineers on their toes! Ensuring all projects are fully quality assured before leaving the practice means our clients receive the working solution they require within the required timeframes. Harvey is 100% committed to the team and enjoys improving the business's service.
Harvey is as active outside of RHB as he is in it. He plays badminton for the Isle of Wight, enjoys watching and partaking in all sports, and, when time permits, can be found enjoying the atmosphere of local music festivals. Harvey, his wife, and two children play an active part in everyday life on the Isle of Wight, helping to organise fetes, carnivals & fundraising activities. He has volunteered with Shademakers UK, one of the leading carnival groups in Europe, for the past ten years, performing many characters in events/carnivals/festivals around the UK and Germany.
Earlier in 2022, the c 180 strong troupe was delighted when they were selected to represent the South of England in the 4-mile Queen’s 70th Jubilee pageant. The theme for Shademakers was ‘The Queen’s Beasts’, and the team split into four sections, each representing one of the countries of the UK, with a lion leading each one. 'Lion Harvey' was first in line, leading Scotland. Harvey said, ‘It was such an honour performing in the pageant for the Queen’s Jubilee. The atmosphere and crowds were amazing as soon as we walked through Admiralty Arch into The Mall. I didn’t realise how wide and long The Mall was! There were crowds from the start at Westminster to the end of Birdcage Walk, and they were all amazed at the costumes. I must admit I was glad to get out of the Lion at the end as it is a heavy frame.’
