RHB Partnership LLP were commissioned by Hampshire County Council to provide a full design of the Mechanical and Electrical Services including thermal modeling to ensure a low energy low carbon design. We were also responsible for the monitoring of the installation on site.
The new school achieved a ‘Very Good’ BREEAM Rating and utilized solar water heating, automatic natural ventilation and automatic lighting controls. The natural ventilation is achieved using automatic window actuators controlled by a local area network with CO² and temperature sensing along with rain sensors and entrapment detection. Lighting is provided throughout the school using high frequency fluorescent luminaires with classroom lighting being dimmable and linked to occupancy and daylight sensing to maintain correct lighting levels and avoid unoccupied spaces remaining illuminated. Preset lighting levels are also provided to give optimum lighting levels for the use of interactive whiteboards. The BMS system is linked to the school’s data network and can be interrogated remotely using a web-browser system. Pulsed output metering is provided linked to the BMS system for monitoring the school’s energy performance.
We have experience in working on many aspects of a project. Here's what we did for this project:
