Radiopharmaceutical Production Unit (RPU) has been completed for the Erigal Group at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Sutton.
The facility houses a Cyclotron producing radioisotopes which are synthesized in GMP clean rooms to produce short life radiopharmaceuticals, which are then injected into patients and used with Positron Emission Tomography (PET) trace scanning for advanced detection and diagnosis of cancerous growths. The specialist M&E services include a Cyclotron chilled water cooling system, clean room ventilation systems with HEPA filtration, radiation cell extract systems, medical gases, Cyclotron access safety system, and cleanroom air pressure relief systems, and radiation monitoring. The Royal Marsden Hospital RPU also includes M&E Services to clean rooms and laboratories for the Institute of Cancer Research.
