About the project

Calverley Close Phase 1 forms part of a wider estate regeneration programme in Beckenham, delivered by Riverside in partnership with Countryside Partnerships. The first phase involves the construction of 20 new homes, primarily townhouses, on the site of the former Warner House block, along with the installation of supporting utilities and external works. This initial delivery phase sets the foundation for future phases that will collectively provide and enhance the wider estate.

Understanding the challenges

Delivering building services for Phase 1 required careful integration of mechanical and electrical systems within a low-rise residential typology while ensuring alignment with long-term regeneration objectives. The coordination of incoming utilities, underfloor heating, ventilation, and water systems had to meet current compliance standards and ensure continuity across future phases. RHB collaborated on the design development with the broader project team, with a particular focus on sequencing, statutory connections, and maintaining buildability within a compact residential layout.
